In collaboration with Arlington Chamber, US Pan Asian Chamber Southwest presented the First China Trade Forum on March 31, 2008. The forum was a great success with 31 key businesses and community leaders attending.

Mr. Robert Sturns, Director of Economic Development of the City of Arlington, Dr. David Mack and Dr. David Gray, both from the University of Arlington EMBA Program China and Howard Tseng, CPA, were the panelist speakers at the forum. Other invited guests were Kenneth Haynes from Department of Commerce and Michelle Bell from ACCION.  They shared tremendous insight in doing business in Asia, and in particular, in China, which is our focus this year.

The rise of China as the world's fastest growing economy also means business opportunities for many businesses in Arlington.  The forum's attendees expressed great interests in our future Trade Forums and pledge to support  this initiative.  The attendees' deep interest in this program was evident  because they all stayed close to one hour after the presentation to talk to our panelists and net work with each other.

Arlington Chamber President, Mr. Wes Jurey, and Mr. Orlando Campos, Arlington Chamber Economic Development Director, were both on hand to welcome all participants and express their intention to work closely with the small business owners and suppliers at the forum.
